Dear Foster Families,
I hope these times find you well. These are challenging times. Like many of you, I am weary of the pandemic. First and foremost, Foster is here for the community and this will be a time to lean on each other. We cannot do it alone. The fall of 2020/2021 has begun differently than at any time in our school's history. Class is not the traditional in-person instruction but consists of distance learning and may eventually phase into a hybrid model (in class and distance learning combined) when it is safe. During the current COVID situation, the district has been working diligently to develop these models. We plan to do what is best to keep everyone safe. The Foster staff can’t wait until we can all be together again.
Foster staff promises to make 2020/2021 a great year. Together as a team, we can ensure that your child(ren) will succeed academically. We are also here to support their social-emotional growth and safety.
During distance learning students are not required to wear uniforms; yet, it is good practice to have them in a routine and prepared for the learning environment to be more productive. Being appropriately dressed is expected.
Due to unprecedented times, communication between the school and the home needs to be consistent and ongoing. We will continue to inform families about news and any school activities through our website, phone messages, social media, and other correspondence. Please be sure to keep the school updated with any concerns you have regarding the academics and/or social-emotional needs of your child(ren). Also, keep us updated regarding change of address, phone numbers, or work information so we can keep the lines of communication open.
Although our campus may be closed to the public, the office remains open and teachers will be providing instruction. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school office at (626) 962-8111.
