Spotlight Message

Dear Foster Families,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your summer break with your loved ones! My name is Wendy Enriquez, and I am truly honored to serve as your new Principal at Foster Elementary. I am stepping into big shoes following Mrs. Caballero’s incredible legacy, and my goal is to continue the amazing momentum she established here. One thing Mrs. Caballero and I share is a deep love for our Foster community.

A little about me: I have proudly served in the Baldwin Park Unified School District for the past 24 years in a variety of roles—including classroom teacher of English and Dual Language, resource teacher, Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal on Special Assignment with the technology department, and most recently, Principal of Geddes Elementary for the last four years. Each of these experiences has shaped my leadership style and strengthened my belief in the power of collaboration, inclusivity, and high expectations for all students.

On a personal note, I am a Baldwin Park alumna, having attended Tracy Elementary, Sierra Vista Junior High, and Sierra Vista High School. I earned my undergraduate degree and teaching credential from UC Riverside and later completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administrative Credential at Concordia University in Irvine. I am also a proud mother of four children, all of whom attend Baldwin Park schools. My husband works for the district as well, and my family—along with my parents, who both retired from BPUSD—are the heart of my life. Baldwin Park is truly home to me, and I am thrilled to continue serving this community.

I am so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to dream, grow, and achieve big things together with our students, families, and staff!

¡Espero que este mensaje los encuentre bien y disfrutando de sus vacaciones de verano con sus seres queridos! Mi nombre es Wendy Enriquez y me siento verdaderamente honrada de servir como su nueva directora en la Escuela Primaria Foster. Estoy siguiendo los pasos de la increíble Sra. Caballero y mi objetivo es continuar con el maravilloso impulso que ella estableció aquí. Una cosa que la Sra. Caballero y yo compartimos es un profundo amor por nuestra comunidad Foster.

Un poco sobre mí: He servido con orgullo en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Baldwin Park durante los últimos 24 años en una variedad de capacitaciones, incluyendo maestra de inglés y programa de doble lenguaje, maestra de recursos, subdirectora, subdirectora en asignación especial en el departamento de tecnología y, más recientemente, directora de la Escuela Primaria Geddes durante los últimos cuatro años. Cada una de estas experiencias ha moldeado mi estilo de liderazgo y fortalecido mi convicción en el poder de la colaboración, la inclusión y las altas expectativas para todos los estudiantes.

En lo personal, soy exalumna de Baldwin Park, habiendo asistido a Tracy Elementary, Sierra Vista Junior High y Sierra Vista High School. Obtuve mi licenciatura y credencial docente en UC Riverside y, más adelante, mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo y credencial administrativa en Concordia University en Irvine. También soy madre orgullosa de cuatro hijos; todos ellos asisten a escuelas de Baldwin Park. Mi esposo también trabaja para el distrito, y mi familia—junto con mis padres, quienes se jubilaron de BPUSD—son el corazón de mi vida. Baldwin Park es verdaderamente mi hogar y me emociona seguir sirviendo a esta comunidad.

¡Estoy muy emocionada por el año que se avecina y no puedo esperar para soñar, crecer y lograr grandes cosas junto con nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal!
